Kohawk Homecoming

Supporting the team with his Coe gear
A few weeks ago we headed to Cedar Rapids to join Cami and my college gal pals for Coe's homecoming celebration.  Saturday morning Tate and I headed down to Ames to pick up my friend Christina's little boy, Owen, because she had to coach a cross country meet before leaving for CR.  So Tate, Owen and myself went to the farm to spend the morning with my parents, Chad and Brittni.  The boys had a good time with Brittni's dog Chewy.   Owen wanted to get to know Chewy really well and taste him a little bit.

Just minding their own business

After Christina was done with the meet, we rode together to Cedar Rapids to meet up with  mu parents, Cami, Jess (her daughter, Maya) and Sally at the homecoming football game.  Sadly, I left my camera in the car so I didn't capture the wonderful greeting Tate got from Maya when we arrived.  Maya was all about loving on Tate with hugs and kisses.  To Maya's dismay, Tate did not understand what was going on and he rudely stiff armed her and walked away.  So cute now, but in 16 years. . . oy!
Following the game we spent a little time tailgating with Aunt Cami, and one of her friends had a fun drum for Tate to bang on for awhile.  He was in seventh heaven.

That evening Tate went home with my parents while I went out with the girls for supper and to the five year class reunion celebration at an old hangout.  And again, all of us forgot to take a photo together Saturday night when we looked decent, so we settled for the morning after shot before parting ways.

I am so thankful for my girlfriends, we only get to see one another a few times a year as we all live in different parts of Iowa and the midwest, but when we get together it's always a great time with lots of laughs and fun.  Love you girls, and we all missed you Krista.
